Dooney's Café

511 Bloor Street West
(416) 536-3293

Neighbourhood: The Annex
Cusine Type: Casual Dining

Hours Of Operation:
Monday -Saturday: 10:00am - 2:00am
Sunday: 10:00am - 1:00am

ETO Review:
When the owner of the building that houses Dooney's tried to terminate the lease to make way for a Starbucks, the neighbourhood protested—literally, with placards and all. (There is even a book on the subject, Brian Fawcett's: Local Matters: A Defence of Dooney's Cafe and Other Non-globalized Places, People, and Ideas). A second home to neighbourhood writers and artists for about 20 years, this landmark offers a broad selection of breakfast, sandwiches and pasta. Desserts are numerous and hard to resist. Excellent patio.
